Dr. Sandra Juggar


Dr. Juggar is a graduate from Illinois School of Professional Psychology and has an extensive history working with children and adolescents, as well as young adults. During her fellowship, Dr. Juggar provided individual and family therapy in a private practice setting. She completed doctoral internship at Liden Oaks Behavioral Hospital working with high acuity presentations including suicidal and homicidal ideations, emotional and behavioral disturbances, self-harm, substance use addiction, and eating disorders.


Furthermore, Dr Juggar obtained training within various settings serving pediatric and adolescent populations shaping her specialization working with young clients and their families. Dr. Juggar has experience in a wide range of developmental, behavioral, and intellectual disorders affecting children of all ages and backgrounds. She conducted extensive diagnostic assessments, analyzed and interpreted testing data, and developed full-battery reports that assisted clients in receiving services within educational and home settings. To further develop her understanding of the psychology of young brains, she continued to work as an Applied Behavioral Analyst and used approaches derived from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other evidence-based practices while helping families with children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders often presenting with co-occurring diagnoses of anxiety, depression, conduct disorders and substance use.


Additionally, Dr. Juggar sought exposure in working with children by training at New Connections Academy, a therapeutic day school, serving population of children with a wide range of mental health complications. While working among a group of well-trained therapists, psychiatrists, and other educational professionals, she was constantly exposed to highly unpredictable and challenging situations that arise during individual and group sessions throughout each school day. Dr. Juggar was also involved in family therapy and the development of individualized educational plans by conducting structured behavioral and emotional health assessments.


With the ability to be flexible in diverse ethnic and racial groups and understanding the complexity of a developing brain, Dr. Juggar provides evidence-informed interventions helping children and adolescents navigate through their presenting problems and finding their strengths to succeed in daily life. Dr. Juggar incorporates families in treatment of younger clients to help all members of the family system learn how to communicate in an effective and healthy way, meanwhile making everyone feel validated and included.
