Dr. Tara Fantetti-Lindstrom

I know it can be difficult to make the decision to start therapy, and I’m honored that you’ve taken the first step.  I’d love to learn more about what’s going on for you now and see if we might be a good fit to work together.

About Me: I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School

of Professional Psychology at National Louis University. My clinical experience is extensive and varied. My clinical training has been in the following settings: Linden Oaks Behavioral Health (partial hospital and outpatient programs), Elgin Mental Health Center (Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) unit and Psychodiagnostic test administration), Way Back Inn (provided therapy to individuals struggling with the misuse of substances within a highly structured living arrangements), Chicago Legal Advocacy for Incarcerated Mothers  (Psychological First Aid and organize formerly incarcerated women to impact policy with a focus on reducing termination of parental rights), North Country Transitional Living Services (provided therapy to individuals struggling with the misuse of substances  and other mental health struggles within a semi-structured living arrangements), and Hozhoni Foundation (Residential Care and Day Program for individuals struggling development disabilities-therapeutic art programs).

Specialties and Therapy Style: I provide therapeutic and psychological assessment services to individuals in outpatient settings. I am proficient in diagnosing and treating behavioral health issues in individuals from young adults through older adulthood using mindfulness based treatment approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

I take a humanistic approach to therapy, in which I focus on self-development, growth and responsibilities. I seek to help individuals recognize their strengths, creativity and choice in the ‘here-and-now.’ I am qualified to treat a wide range of clinical symptoms. I have specialized in treating individuals with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, personality disorders, disordered eating and the misuse substances.  I also provide psychological testing and consultation. I provide comprehensive and patient-centered care. This is done through the use of psychotherapy, psycho-education, screening and assessment services.

Fun Facts: I am a runner. I have completed 3 marathons and 10 half marathons. I love all genres of music.  I love football-Bear down, Chicago bears! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and reading at home with my two Great Danes.

Looking forward to speaking soon!
